Last night I attended a class at cookbook author Lucia von Flotow's beautiful home. Her house sits in the middle of their orchard with views from her kitchen of both Mount Adams and Mount Hood. It was spectacular. We made a wonderful Italian dinner with ingredients from her garden and other local farms, with olive oil from her home in Italy. I was in charge of the risotto, it is simple, yet a lot of work, "keep stiring!", but well worth it in the end. Lucia was a great host and teacher. I loved her Italian flare, "sex is food" she says.
