somersault snacks

This last weekend, when there was finally a break in the rain, we packed up some snacks and headed to the park. Hudson picked up every rock he could find, while Lola ran around chasing Bob. With the rain season upon us, I feel it is important to break out of the house any and every chance we get. It's amazing what a little fresh air can do for you.

I am always, always looking for healthy snacks for the family. Especially since we are constantly on the go. Whether that is running errands to the store, taking Lola to her numerous activities, or driving to Portland. If I don't have some quick easy snacks with me, there WILL be a melt down.

Somersaults are these awesome sunflower seed little nuggets. They come in 5 flavors: Pacific Sea Salt, Salty Pepper, Cinnamon Crunch, Dutch Cocoa and Santa Fe Salsa. The snacks have 4x more antioxidants than blueberries. More fiber than an apple. With 50% more protein than almonds. Plus they are nut free!

I never really understood the importance of nut free until this week. Lola attends a new school where you are not allowed to bring any nuts into their lunches. Somersault snacks were the perfect thing to put in her lunch this week.

Lola and Hudson loved the Cinnamon Crunch and Dutch Cocoa flavors, naturally. Where Jake and I preferred Salty Pepper, Pacific Sea Salt, and Santa fe Salsa.

They come in a larger pack, or some single servings. Which work great for school lunches, post work-out snacks, and road trips.

What are you favorite on-the-go snacks for kids? And with more and more schools becoming nut free, what are you packing in your child's lunch?

Somersault Snack Co. provided me with the sunflower snacks, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
