3 day juice cleanse // Vital Juice Co.

So here's the truth. I'm not exactly sure how it all started, maybe its the busy schedule, plus being a mother of two kids, but the last month has been a struggle eating nutritionally. Now that doesn't really mean I'm eating junk food and fast food. It just means that I haven't taken the time to really give my body what it needs. Instead, I'm running around, taking on too many projects, and grabbing handfuls of food where I can find them.

When Vital Juice Co. contacted me letting me know their juice is now available in Portland and to see if I would like to sample it, I of course said yes. We do plenty of juicing here at home. But with our busy schedule, I know, it's an excuse, we just haven't pulled out the machine in awhile. So when I received the case of juice, I decided, let's do this right. 3 day juice cleanse, go!

Now this was my first juice cleanse. Let's be honest, it's not easy. The first day is rough, I'm talking, crazy lady rough. And really it doesn't help when my adorable 4 year old is requesting a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich for lunch. Ugh. But here is the thing, since I ended my 3 day journey, my body feels better and I am back on track.

I'm not saying you need to do a juice cleanse and who knows if I will do one again (the shakes got intense), but I do know that when I have a busy day or just need that extra energy, juice is the best thing for my body.

I absolutely loved the juice that I received from Vital Juice Co. Their juice is 100% organic, locally sourced and bottled. No artificial color, flavors or sugar added. They make vegetable juices, fruit juices, and milks (which were my favorite).

Vital Juice Co. sent me the following juices:
Vital Beet - carrot + orange + beet
Vital Carrot - apple + carrot + ginger
Vital Greens - cucumber + apple + kale + spinach + ginger + lemon (one of my favorites)
Vital Melon - watermelon + lime
Vital Grapefruit - grapefruit + mint (one of my favorites)
Vital Pineapple - pineapple + ginger
Vital Citrus - tangerine + orange
Vital Coconut - coconut water (one of my favorites to make a smoothie with)
Vital Almond - almond + water + agave + vanilla (one of my favorites to make a smoothie with)
Vital Beet with almond - carrot + orange + almond + water + beet + agave + vanilla (one of my favorites to make a smoothie with)
Vital Carrot with almond - apple + carrot + almond + water + ginger + agave + vanilla
Vital Greens with almond - cucumber + apple + kale + almonds + water + spinach + ginger + lemon + agave + vanilla (MY FAVORITE)

During my 3 day cleanse, I added one smoothie to my diet every day. I took a frozen banana and blended it with one of their milks. Best smoothie I have had in awhile (could have been the hunger talking, but I thought it was pretty good). Plus I topped it off with some chia seeds, love me some chia seeds! I loved the convenience of having these juices already made, bottled, and ready to go. So even though I have a juicer of my own, I definitely see myself picking up a bottle of Vital Juice next time I am at the store. Best part is, I felt completely comfortable letting Lola and Hudson have some, and that doesn't happen to often. (poor kids only get milk and water in this house)

Vital Juice Co. gave me the juice to sample, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
