Friday Favorites

It has been almost 2 years since we left the city. I adore where we are at now. The small town atmosphere, mountains, rivers, a more simple life. That being said, we come to Portland about every 2-3 weeks, and every time, I realize how much I love this city. The people, the shops, the scenery, the food! Last night I was invited to attend a private event at Castagna. The night was filled of good conversation, plenty of drinks, and amazing food created by executive chef, Justin Woodward. And when I saw amazing food, I mean 12 courses of one extraordinary dish after another. His focus is on local, seasonal produce, much of which he grows in his own garden beds behind the restaurant. Bravo to Castagna and Justin for doing it right.

Shameless plug time. My Broiled Grapefruit with Honey, Cinnamon and Cayenne Pepper has been selected by The Chalkboard Mag to participate in their citrus recipe contest. Simply click this link to vote (hopefully for my recipe), and I could be featured on their beautiful website. Thank you!

Here is my Friday favorites list. Happy Weekend, xxoo!
