Matcha Rice Krispies

Recipe adapted and inspired by Snixy Kitchen

Makes 12 large bars


4 ounces unsalted butter

1 10-ounce bag of marshmallows

2 tablespoons culinary grade matcha powder

6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies

¼ cup + 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds

1 ounce dark chocolate, finely chopped


Line a large baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large pot over medium-low heat begin melting the butter, stirring occasionally. As it begins to foam keep stirring it as it quickly turns to golden brown. Once there is a nutty aroma, and the butter is now a rich golden brown, lower the heat and add the marshmallows and matcha powder. Quickly stirring together until the marshmallows are melted, then remove from the heat. Add the 6 cups of rice krispies and ¼ cup black sesame seeds, stirring to combine.

Begin spreading the matcha rice krispie mix into the parchment lined baking dish, smoothing the top and pushing the mix to the edges. Sprinkle the dark chocolate and remaining 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds over top and allow to cool and rest. Cut into bars and serve.
