Grapefruit Hibiscus Margarita

I have mentioned it a time or 12 before that margaritas are absolutely my favorite drink. That along with gin + tonics, and anything with bourbon. Anytime we are having one of "those weeks", or one of "those days", we make margaritas. Juicing limes, playing Jimmy Buffet, and rimming the glass with salt. A bad mood does not exist with those 3 key elements happening in the kitchen.

Being a long time fan of Morris Kitchen with their amazing cocktail syrups. Ginger Syrup. Preserved Lemon Syrup. Rhubarb Syrup and my favorite Grapefruit Hibiscus Syrup. We have partnered together for a fun cocktail + giveaway. Head over to my Instagram account for a chance to win a bottle of Grapefruit Hibiscus & Ginger Spice Cocktail Mixer.

GRAPEFRUIT HIBISCUS MARGARITA
makes 1

2 ounces silver 100% agave tequila
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 ounce Grapefruit Hibiscus Syrup
5-7 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
kosher salt + zest for garnish

Using a muddler, lightly smash the mint leaves with tequila in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, lime juice and Grapefruit Hibiscus Syrup. SHAKE.

Run a lime wedge along the glass rim. Fill a small plate with sea salt + zest. Dip glass into salt and roll it. Fill glass with ice and strain margarita over top. Garnish with mint leaves and extra lime wedges.
